Part-time, Remote Small Business Advisor

Company Description
The North Texas Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a regional network comprising a central office and 12 field centers serving 49 counties across North Texas. The SBDC provides expert business development counseling to both new and established small businesses, supporting their growth and long-term success.

Role Description
We are seeking a part-time, remote Small Business Advisor to join the North Texas SBDC team. This is a contracted position running from January 1, 2026, through December 15, 2026.
As a Small Business Advisor, you will provide strategic guidance to small business owners in areas such as financial management, communication, customer satisfaction, and training. Your insights will play a key role in helping clients build sustainable and profitable business models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on financial planning and small business operations
  • Support startup business model development
  • Provide mentorship and effective communication strategies
  • Enhance customer satisfaction through tailored training initiatives
  • Analyze business performance and recommend improvements
  • Help clients explore and diversify revenue streams

Qualifications

  • Strong background in finance and small business management
  • Experience with startup business models
  • Excellent communication and mentorship skills
  • Proven ability to improve customer satisfaction and deliver training
  • Prior experience advising small businesses is a plus
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
